Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Redcapes handles personal information — plainly, and for every market where the cape flies.
Last updated: August 8, 2026
1. Who we are and what this policy covers
The Redcapes platform is owned and operated by NUUN Digital LLC (“Redcapes”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). Redcapes is a marketplace that connects customers with independent, vetted home-service professionals (our “Heroes” or “Partners”).
This Privacy Policy covers personal information processed through:
- the Redcapes mobile app (for customers);
- the Redcapes Partners mobile app (for service professionals); and
- this website, redcapes.ca.
We operate in multiple regions, including Canada, the United States, Europe, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, and Oman. Where local law gives you stronger rights than this policy describes, those rights apply. Section 9 sets out region-specific disclosures.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account details — name, email address, phone number, and password. Phone numbers are verified with a one-time code sent by SMS or WhatsApp.
- Service addresses and location details — the addresses you save and the location you set for a job.
- Booking content — the service you request, descriptions, photos you attach, scheduling preferences, and any notes.
- Messages — chat messages (including images) exchanged with your professional or with our support team through the app.
- Ratings and reviews you submit after a job.
- Payment method details — collected and processed by licensed third-party payment providers. We do not store full card numbers on our systems; we receive limited information such as card brand, last four digits, and transaction status.
- Partner verification information (Partners app only) — identity and qualification documents submitted by professionals as part of our vetting and approval process.
Information collected automatically
- Precise location — with your device-level permission: a customer’s location is used to set the service address and to match nearby professionals; a professional’s live location is collected while they are travelling to and performing an accepted job and is shown to the customer for that job.
- Device and usage data — device type and identifiers, app version, language, push-notification tokens, log and diagnostic data, and how the apps are used.
- Attribution data — where permitted, install and campaign attribution collected through mobile measurement partners (such as AppsFlyer) so we know which marketing brought you to the app.
3. How we use information
- to create and secure your account (including one-time code verification);
- to operate the marketplace: publish requests, match and dispatch professionals, show live tracking, enable chat and calls, and process bookings end to end;
- to process payments, issue receipts and invoices, and apply promotions — including obtaining your approval before any additional work is charged;
- to vet, approve, and quality-control professionals, including reviewing verification documents and monitoring ratings;
- to send service communications (booking status, safety notices, receipts) and, with your consent or as permitted by law, promotional messages you can opt out of at any time;
- to provide customer support and investigate disputes, complaints, or safety incidents — which may include reviewing relevant booking details and messages;
- to maintain safety and prevent fraud, abuse, and misuse of the platform;
- to analyse and improve our services, including fixing bugs and understanding which features are used; and
- to comply with legal obligations, including tax, accounting, and lawful requests from authorities.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising networks.
4. Legal bases for processing
Where laws such as the EU/UK GDPR require a legal basis, we rely on:
- Performance of a contract — most processing exists to deliver the service you booked;
- Legitimate interests — securing the platform, preventing fraud, improving our services, and running our business, balanced against your rights;
- Consent — for example, device location permissions and promotional messages; you can withdraw consent at any time; and
- Legal obligation — where we must retain or disclose information by law.
5. How information is shared
- Between customers and professionals — to deliver a job, the professional sees the information they need (such as your first name, service address, request details, photos, and messages), and the customer sees the professional’s name, photo, rating, and live location for that job. Please share in requests and chat only what is needed for the work.
- Service providers (processors) — companies that process data on our instructions to run the platform: payment providers (such as Stripe and regional licensed payment gateways), cloud hosting and infrastructure, push-notification and app-diagnostics services (such as Google Firebase), SMS/verification providers (such as Twilio), mapping and address services (such as Google Maps), and attribution/analytics providers. They are bound by contracts limiting their use of your data.
- Legal and safety — where required by law or where disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of users, professionals, the public, or Redcapes.
- Business transfers — if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
6. International data transfers
We operate internationally, and your information may be stored and processed in countries other than your own — including Canada, the United States, member states of the European Union, and the countries where we operate in the Gulf region. Where a transfer requires safeguards (for example, transfers of European data), we use recognised mechanisms such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses, and we require our service providers to protect personal information to the standards described in this policy.
7. How long we keep information
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, maintain safety records, and meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations. When you delete your account in the app (or ask us to), we deactivate it and delete or anonymise personal information, except where we are required or permitted by law to retain it — for example, transaction records retained for tax purposes.
8. Your privacy rights
Subject to the law that applies to you, you may have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you and receive a copy;
- correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- delete your information (and your account);
- receive certain information in a portable format;
- object to, or ask us to restrict, certain processing;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent (for example, turning off location permissions or opting out of promotional messages); and
- complain to your data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, use the controls in the app (account, permissions, and account-deletion settings) or contact us at hello@redcapes.ca. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we respond within the time required by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
9. Region-specific disclosures
Canada
We comply with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy laws, including Quebec’s Law 25 where it applies. You may request access to or correction of your personal information and may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or your provincial regulator.
United States
Depending on your state (including under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended), you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, and port your personal information, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Redcapes does not sell personal information and does not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes other than providing the service.
Europe (EEA and UK)
We process personal data in accordance with the GDPR and UK GDPR, including the legal bases in Section 4 and the transfer safeguards in Section 6. You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
Qatar
We process personal data in accordance with Qatar’s Personal Data Privacy Protection Law (Law No. 13 of 2016), including obtaining consent where required and honouring your rights of access, correction, and erasure.
Saudi Arabia
We process personal data in accordance with the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) and its regulations, including limits on use and disclosure and your rights of access, correction, and destruction.
United Arab Emirates
We process personal data in accordance with UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data.
Kuwait
We process personal data in accordance with applicable Kuwaiti law, including the data privacy protection regulations issued by the Communication and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA).
Oman
We process personal data in accordance with Oman’s Personal Data Protection Law (Royal Decree 6/2022).
Other countries
Where we make the service available in other countries (for example, Lebanon), we apply the protections in this policy and honour rights granted by applicable local law.
10. Children
Redcapes is not directed to children. You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to create an account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children; if you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organisational measures designed to protect personal information — including encryption of data in transit, access controls, and payment processing through licensed providers so that full card numbers do not touch our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security; if a breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify you and the relevant authorities where the law requires it.
12. Cookies and similar technologies
Our website uses only the technologies necessary for it to function and does not set advertising cookies. Our mobile apps use device identifiers and similar technologies for core functionality (such as keeping you signed in and delivering push notifications), diagnostics, and install attribution as described in Section 2. You can manage permissions — including location and notifications — in your device settings.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service and the law evolve. We will post the updated version on this page with a new “Last updated” date and, for material changes, give you additional notice in the app or by other means. Your continued use of the service after an update means the updated policy applies.
